Re: Supposedly IndyCar sponsors were looking for a minimum 1.0 rating on ABC this yea

Following up on the Edmonton viewership # discrepancy, as I never heard back from VERSUS (no surprise), I contacted Austin Karp of SportsBusiness Daily, and asked for his help in confirming his previous statements & figures and double-checking the Edmonton 2010 #s. He replied via email and gave me the actual number, which I've now posted in it's own thread here:

http://www.crapwagon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57504

Austin theorized that the #s supplied to the Edmonton reporter Pushkarenko by VERSUS were possibly *combined* US+Canadian viewership #s. It's a nice theory, don't know if it's true as neither of us have RDS viewership #s (RDS is the Quebec-based French-language cable sports channel similar to TSN).

reVersus is now reporting 3 day weekend totals as one number

Quote:
U.S. sports network Versus is reporting a lower viewing audience for Sunday's Honda Indy Edmonton. The network says the race attracted 781,000 viewers, down from about 846,000 for last year's race.

Corner 5, are those 3 days numbers or race day only. Boomer, Is that for real about reversus adding the numbers to get a rating and are they doing that with all events now or just Edmonton? Anybody have links to the info?

But what does a 24 percent increase mean for the open-wheel series? A national rating of 0.36, or about 402,000 viewers per race.

He blew his head off. Apparently, he was too good for KoolAid/Flavoraid.

And I'm not sure I can trust Schoettle's #s, as he said that Nielsen wouldn't give them to him anymore. He could be parroting inflated #s from Versus.

Someone shot him from behind. He was too chicken sh*t to actually do onto himself what he was asking his followers to do.
