This is so classic. Suck on that, Indy (not the crappy) - that's how relevant FTG has made your POS oval infield course.

And if FTG was involved in picking Austin, it's a big slap in the face to the family that financed his crapheap of a series. Lovin' it.

I live 20 minutes from Indy, but will be more than happy to head down to Texas for this!

    Re: F1 Austin

The complete lack of detail concerning this "world class purpose built facility" is telling. Berntard is always more than eager to stroke himself off to the media about the track that will be built. Weird this article is totally devoid of any such info.

Call me skeptical I guess. If it goes off, I will be there.

edit: Try googling Full Throttle Productions...hmmmmm...

    Re: F1 Austin

Well, after the initial shock and reaction, I would have to say this makes sense for a couple of reasons.
The economy is still good in Texas.
Austin is home to many tech companies like Texas Instruments, Dell, Freescale, and many other high tech companies like AMD, Ebay have offices there.
Lots of oil money in Texas.
    A purpose built F1 circuit.
The greenies are a rare breed in Texas. So you won't have a lot of opposition for a project such as a race track.
And last of all no Mindy in the background to take away from the distraction of an F1 race.

I agree with your points, including this one:

However, how does that explain this from the press release:

    - Voted “Greenest City in America” (MSN)

I don't remember ever being to Austin, but I do think I've heard it has a bit different makeup of residents as the rest of Texas taken as a whole.

    Okay,

I'm calling bull$@#t, at least for now.

The F1 Press Release refers additional questions to info@fullthrottleproductionslp.com. I tried to land on a home page by sticking fullthrottleproductionslp.com into my browser. All that came up was a one page notice of the announcement - no links whatsoever on this page.

Who are these guys and why should we believe that they are anything more than a pawn for Bernie?

Texas would make sense, never been to Austin so not sure what exactly its like.

Hopefully they build an actual racetrack this time unlike that POS Mindy infield road course.
