Nothing like being right at the Christmas Tree and feeling those big boys launch. We went Saturday to the one in Houston it was rather amazing !

Enjoy yourselves this weekend.

Wish I could go, 'cause I'd like to see an NHRA event sometime. But, I'm not heading out that way until the end of April, so I have to miss it. Oh well.

CJ, get back to me in November.

We always have a group on Saturday at the Finals...:burnout:

And to anyone who has never experienced Fuel cars at an NHRA event:

Think of it this way: 18 ChampCars with 800hp each= 16,400hp.

2 Top Fuel or Funny Cars at the line= 16,000hp.

The shock wave when they launch will not only open your eyes, but re-start your heart if it stops beating from the noise!

NHRA ROCKS!

Orchid, you picked the wrong day to go. It was brutal in the stands with that wind. I had to go into the midway and buy a pair of Ringers gloves or I wouldn't have been able to work my camera.

Sunday, however, was gorgeous. Even had Urs Erbacher detonate his engine directly in front of us. Nice fireball.

Wish I'd known you were there. We could have met up.

JPetshcauer, have fun in Vegas.
Go Al-Anabi Racing!

THAT'S for sure.

It was kinda kool the first few times, but after awhile it became uncomfortable for me. But it DID make it feel like the vibration was so out-of-phase with my heart that it would make my blood not circulate. I don't think I could take it too often, but NHRA IS a MUST-see.

Hey, I always think of you when I hear that NHRA is out in Pomona. I remember you saying that you always go. I'll be sure to get in touch this year and you can show me how to properly appreciate a drag event.

LOL no joke we froze our butts off, we had to get gloves too and a jacket for me (guess I looked rather pathetic shivering in the stands) someone felt sorry for me.

We will go again next year so we will plan ahead this time and meet up. Would be great to see you again.

This was my first time to attend in person. It is a definite must. I thought it was great when they did the burnouts, the real treat came when both cars launched at the same time all it could think is "DO THAT AGAIN!!" You feel the vibration start at your feet and go thru your whole body.

hey guys & gals well it was a great day for drag racing. ill post sum pics when i get the chance my mom loved being right at the "christmas tree" and feeling the POWER of 2 7,000 HP top fuel funny car & dragster cars going right off the line. now i did get a good dose of Nitro Methane but i got WAY WAY too much from "fast Jack" jack beckman and about passed out lol but it was fun overall. im planning on going back out there for the fall event.

That would be over 16,000 HP attempting to tear your heart from your chest when 2 Top Fuel cars launch!! That would be like the first 12 rows in a NasCrap race all doing a standing start 50 feet from your face.
