Very Sad. Those guys are amazing and make it look easy,,, but you always have the feeling that something really bad can happen. It did. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. Big shock for the whole sport..

Good Lord. I just saw his accident on a news program on TV. Holy crapola that was quite the crumple he took.

These guys are on the fine line between nuts and absolute miracle workers on these machines. They amaze me all the time.

Very sad to see.

I won't watch it ..... too upsetting I have heard.

Thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.

Read somewhere that he had performed the same stunt a year or so ago and had the same accident, but walked away, and was afraid to do that stunt for a long time ...

Sad. :sadly:

Very, very, sad, 24 is just way to young to go. I watch these guys and I am in awe of what they do, but I have been afraid that something like this would happen, especially with all the inverted tricks they are doing now.

What a bummer. When you defy Death over and over, sooner or later Death will get vengeful. These guys are SO talented that we've kinda become blase about what can happen. It certainly will put what the rest of them do in perspective.

My prayers go out to his family.

^ and ^^ -- ditto. The first time I ever saw this sport (doing flips and such) was during an intermission at another racing event, and though I was amazed at what they were doing, I wasn't sure if they were amazingly brave or amazingly stupid. The answer is, both, it seems. Amazingly talented too, at that level. But the risk-factor for many of those stunts just seems far, far too high for any sane person to take, and any 'sport' to allow.

They're doing similar multi-flips and rotations on BMX bikes, and -- to my absolute horror when I saw this on tv last week -- SNOWMOBILES.

I'm sorry, but while I may cringe when I see a crash, I don't have sympathy.
I can only imagine the family's reaction -- "our worst fears came true" ?
