Red Bull Driver's Search selects four more from Southern California
Orange, California - 5/3/03
Karters from Southern California raced to make a name for themselves at the Red Bull Driver's Search program at Dromo One Indoor Karting Experience. Red Bull is looking for the next American superstar to race through eliminations to ultimately race in Europe and into Formula One.
Steven Elliott, Mike Mantel, Alan Scuito and Cassandra Quaglierini were able to survive the process of qualifying and heat races to make it to Phase 2 of the Red Bull Driver's Search Program. Cassie Q laid down a best lap of 24.57 in quals for the opening round. The second round saw Steven Elliott put together a heat win and consistent finishes to come out on top. Cassie Q and Mike Mantel took wins in the other two heats. The fastest laps in the heats belong to Alan Scuito getting down to 24.007.
Phase 2 will send the karters to the Outdoor Competition presented by Red Bull. The top karters will continue into Phase 3, which puts the best in a 2.0 Liter open wheel cars in Sebring Florida. The racer that survives elimination will receive a test in October at the Paul Ricard circuit in France presented by Red Bull.
The 2003 Red Bull Driver's Search Program is focused on finding drivers 16 - 19 years old, male or female to represent the United States in Formula One. The goal is to discover the next up and coming racer to become the future American F1 champion.
MONKEY: Cassie Q is Palersacer's to be stepdaughter and her uncle is former driver Rick Swarts.
