View Full Version : Q about Google Chrome, vBulletin & the forum navigation bar

I use a number of web browsers (at the same time even) and noticed the other day that in one browser (Firefox-3, I thought, though I might be wrong) that the forum 'quick navigation' bar on this site was broken. I'm talking about that orange bar that starts with 'User CP', 'FAQ'.. and has functions like 'Search' and 'Quick Links' (both with dropdown menus). Basically the 'Quick Links' and 'Search' items were missing and 'Mark Forums Read' and 'Open Buddy List' were in its place. The next day or possibly the day after, without making any changes on my end, it was back to its normal properly working state (in all browsers). And I'm glad to say, it has remained that way...

The reason for my post is that I happened to notice the exact same glitch on another vB-based forum site I visit, but ONLY when viewing their forum in the new Google Chrome browser -- I was therefore wondering if perhaps you guys, being quick on the ball, had noticed the same thing on this site the other day and the glitch I noticed here was a result of 'work in progress' on the solution. If so, as you seem to have got the issue resolved, could you please share with me what you did so that I can pass it on to the admins of the other site?

Thanks!

We did upgrade to a newer vB, not the latest, but newer. I am going to upgrade to the latest soon, but I need a break.

I think the navbar is javascript, and I am running the default install, no mods right now.

I use FF3.0.1 and have never had a problem with the navbar...
Of course I use it on Linux so my underlying operating system isn't broken...
