Electronic Fuel Injection

I'm too lazy now to look it up but when was electronic FI first used in Champcar/CART/USAC and who was the supplier?....I seem to recall even when Cosworth first show up they still had the 'rubber' fuel lines running to the intake plenum area...

The early '80 F1 cars still used the Lucas(!) FI

As in rubber not normally used for EFI? FWIW, Lucas used rubber tubing to supply the fuel on the setups in Triumphs - though they stopped using PI in 1976.
