OMG...
now I know why I didn't go see this movie...what a piece of crap!

It was on the movie network this afternoon, and since there was no race today, I thought I might enjoy the "action" in the movie...

bwahahahahahaha!

How embarrassing for all involved. Although I guess to the non educated, it might have been an enjoyable action movie.
As a real CART fan, the plausibility factor was extremely low.

The only part I did enjoy was the fact that the evil nemisis of the film had Chip GaNASTY as his owner, (and equally bad actor!) and that they had their ass kicked in the end.

*sigh*...that's two hours I won't get back..

watch Grand Prix with James Garner...awesome racing movie...best one I've seen yet. I am still trying to rent Lemans with Steve Mcqueen, i am going to check a few more places, if not, I am going to order it on Amazon.com. Driven sucked so bad...the only good parts are when we get to see some real drivers before the final race.....oh yeah another good part is when Stallone starts Humming....(NOT)

Seemed pretty factual to me, I see three or four champ cars racing past my house each night.:D
FWIW, "Grand Prix" is still the best. You really had to see it the theater, though. My Grandparents took my brother and I to see it and I was transfixed as soon as the opening shots started. It almost looked like you were inside the exhaust pipe.

I just watched Grand Prix this morning (well I recorded it at 4am and watched it later). That is one great movie.

I liked the way speedvision did Grand Prix when they were still doing movies. They had interviews with James Garner and they talked about some of the interesting things that happened during the making of Grand Prix.

Yhe only saving grace that POS had was that I fell asleep half way through, missing it and getting a nap in. What a lame assed movie.

Le Mans, absolutely epic film. If you haven't seen it, your missing a classic. Course you could always rent Greased Lightening....

I don't go to movies...period. I just got the point where I got so tired of these boring action films and the hidden political plots that I just gave them up, cold turkey. Got tired of giving Hollywood my cash...and I won't do it anymore. Driven is a perfect example why. I happened to catch about half of it on HBO while doing laundry a few months ago. That was the most stupid, idiotic piece of cinematic poop I have ever seen or could have ever envisioned. Stallone should write an IRL movie...they deserve one another.

As for Hollywood, the only way I will go back is if they get some honesty--I want a movie called "blowing crap up" that does just that. No plot, no characters, just explosions....for two hours. Until that happens--let them keep kicking out Drivens...I really don't care.

IMO, Le Mans had a tougher plot to follow than Grand Prix. Then again, GP had another hour to tell the story.:) My one memory from watching the first run of Le Mans was "Why would Steve flash a peace sign to someone he didn't like?".;) 'Course, I was a lot younger when the movie played in theaters.
