Hmmm... kind of lackluster. Still, Lucas will be fun to watch. Didn't he do it before?

Hmm, I think there are three people there I've heard of. :p
Last year's race with William Shatner and Vinnie Jones was fun!

Yes, I think it was in 2000.
Jerry Westlund, one of the two "ride buyers" in the field, owns the Fantasy Castle and a few other gentlemen's clubs. :D

I knew most of the people on the list. I must watch too much TV!
I wonder if the race will get some extra publicity by having Kendra Wilkinson (The Girls Next Door reality show) and Robin Quivers (Howard Stern radio show) as drivers.
Chris Klein needs to work on his bio. lol
Go Robyn GO All we need is howard in her pit cheering her on...

There has been quite a bit of talk about Robin racing in the Celebrity event on the show, a couple of weeks ago when they first mentioned it they even had a quick interview with Jim Michalean.

Emily Procter and Kathryn Morris!! Seems like a strong CBS contingent there. With Emily involved do I sense another Champ Car x CSI:Miami crossover? Hmmm...... :D

nope.
However, she has been talking about it a lot (a bunch this morning as a matter of fact) and she sounds REALLY stoked by it. I just pray they'll actually say the name of the series once. Sadly, last week Gary went to a NASCAR race and had a good time. He was mocked for a long time after that. Howard, Fred, and Artie are by no means racing fans. While I enjoyed hearing them mock NASCAR, I feel CCWS will probably get similar treatment.
One glimmer of hope: Robin and Martina Navatralova are both there and she (martina) is on the show a good bit. Hopefully she'll be in the studio (or at least call in) and the two ladies can at least get a word in edge-wise.

They even got the tires right! I checked the Scion's specs and looks like they'll be riding on Bridgestone Potenzas. I wonder if they'll decide to introduce alternates as well..... :p
Unfortunately the cars they're driving (Scion tCs) are spec, which, aside from the rollcage, the harness and some of the stuff taken out, is just another road-going car. Thought they were going to soup it up a bit but no cigar....
They should get the guy who wrecked the Enzo and put him in one of the cars! :D

I think they had some kind of practice/media day today b/c the track was closed. I know, I tried to get on Shoreline Drive today! Plus, I thought I saw Scions on track.

Amusing article in the paper about the celeb race:

And I just noticed on the LBGP website that Hugh Hefner is the Grand Marshall for the race. That ties in nicely with the strip-club driver in the race. :D
